The
IRRC Field House is a reminder that good design can be
accomplished on a limited budget. This 3,900 SF structure is the
focal point of a highly acclaimed recreational facility consisting
of 3 soccer fields, a professional scale baseball diamond, a press
box and concession buildings. The Field house itself contains a
large multi-purpose/meeting room, catering kitchen, rest rooms and
Park & Rec. offices. The concrete block façade was arranged
symmetrically to give what could have been a plain utilitarian
building a more formal and rich feeling. The building was
completed in 1997 at a cost of $70 per square foot.
